Eric Waterman

Eric Waterman started Taekwondo in 1988 at Oriental Martial Arts College (OMAC) in Indianapolis, Indiana, under Grandmaster Choi. He has trained under multiple masters at multiple schools. Eric currently holds a 4th dan black belt in Taekwondo, and is kukkiwon certified.

Eric has had many accomplishments through his Taekwondo career, including but not limited to multiple state championships in USAT, AAU, medals in Jr. Olympics and at National levels. He was invited to train at the Olympic training camp as a young man, and at one point was ranked #4 in the nation for sparring for his level. Eric was brought up under a very traditional, Korean grandmaster, and the discipline he learned over the years has carried over in to his ever day life, along with bringing it in to our Taekwondo program at Midwest Taekwondo Academy.

Eric believes Taekwondo should be fun, but also disciplined. He has high standards for the students, and works hard to help everyone attain their goals and improve to the best of their abilities. Eric has been both AAU and USAT certified as an official, and is well sought after for his fairness as a judge/referee. He is very much a big kid at heart, and even though he seems serious on the outside, he always makes things fun for the kids and loves working with them.
